There are so many great wedding venues in Sweden, in this blog post I will give you a short introduction to some of them, if you have read through the post have any questions don’t hesitate to reach out to me.
Rosersberg Castle was founded in 1634 by Gabriel Bengtsson Oxenstierna and is one of the 11 royal castles in Sweden.
Here you will find beautiful castle halls with high ceilings, a generous castle park with extensive lawns and the shimmering waters of Mälaren as a backdrop. In the castle’s own castle chapel, there is the possibility of both civil and church weddings.
The cocktail hour is best enjoyed on the castle terrace, then a three-course dinner with wines selected by their sommelier is served in the dining room. For those of you who want to extend the wedding weekend, a brunch the day after with family and friends is a perfect way to end the wedding weekend.
The castle has 63 hotel rooms in three different wings, all warm & cozy with a historical touch.
Rosersbergs Slottshotell in Sigtuna is just a short journey from central Stockholm and Uppsala. It is also close to Arlanda Airport, which makes it easy to gather family and friends from all over the world and give them an experience they will not soon forget.
A perfect wedding venue in Sweden.
Kronovall’s wine castle is nestled in the south of Sweden, surrounded by rapeseed fields and beautiful meadows.
The wedding ceremony can be held in the beautiful castle garden, and for those of you who wish to have a church wedding, you are close to Fågeltofta church, 1 km from the castle, and St. Olof’s medieval cross church, one of Skåne’s oldest churches, 5 km from Kronovall
The wedding dinner is set up in the castle’s empire drawing room, which is decorated with ceiling paintings and gold leaf decorations. In the large empire salon, it is possible to accommodate 68 guests, but by spreading out in different salons, you can have up to 110 seated wedding guests.
At Kronovall’s wine castle, there is room for 46 overnight guests in the 23 beautiful castle rooms.
Krägga herrgård is a 45-minute drive from Stockholm, Uppsala and Arlanda. There are several beautiful places for outdoor weddings here, one of the most popular is the pavilion by Mälaren’s beach. Their wedding venue has room for between 60-150 seated guests (250 for mingling). For the wedding guests who want to stay overnight, there are 33 double and 13 single rooms.
Görvälns Castle is the perfect place for the smaller wedding for parties between 12 and 24 people. There are plenty of picturesque places in their garden for your wedding ceremony and after that you can enjoy a four course dinner and you own chambre séparée with Görväln’s wedding table setting and flowers.
Krusenberg herrgård is only a few minutes’ drive from Uppsala, close to both Stockholm and Arlanda. Here you will find an idyllic manor environment, large dining rooms and lounges, romantic hotel rooms, a large and lush green garden and a jetty next to the lake Mälaren. For those of you who wish to have an outdoor wedding, there are several beautiful locations to choose from, regardless of whether you want to be in an apple grove or with a view of the water.
The banquet hall can accommodate up to 90 seated wedding guests and there are 59 beautiful hotel rooms and a wedding suite in a separate building.

Gimo herrgård is a beautiful manor house located in the middle of the northern Uppland forests next to the beautiful Gimosjön. The main building on the manor is built of stone and is a whitewashed two-storey house built together with two lower wings. Gimo herrgård is the first Gustavian manor house in Sweden – built as early as the 1760s. The manor has 88 rooms and suites and plenty of beautiful premises for wedding dinners and parties. At Gimo herrgård there is room for those of you planning a wedding with up to 170 guests.

Rånäs castle is beautifully situated next to the lake Skedviken’s and, in addition to a fantastic exterior, has several ballrooms with high ceilings and Moroccan floors. Ideal for wedding couples seeking an authentic royal experience. There is also a magically beautiful bridal suite on the castle’s top floor.
Outside the castle there are several beautiful places for the wedding ceremony, regardless of whether it suits you best to be outside in the leafy park or by the sparkling lake.
At Rånäs castle there are 35 double rooms and 14 single rooms. In the Galleriet dining room there is room for 100 seated guests and if you are more than 75 overnight guests you have exclusive exclusive rights to the castle and surrounding buildings.
Rosendal’s garden is located just west of Rosendal’s castle on Djurgården. Here you can say yes to each other in the secret garden, a room formed by tall, green hornbeam hedges. During autumn and spring, or when the weather is good, weddings can take place in one of the cozy greenhouses. The wedding dinner is then served in the greenhouse, where there is room for up to 120 seated wedding guests.
7A Strandvägen has fantastic exclusive salons and an unbeatable view of Nybroviken. This venue is perfectly suited for the bride and groom who dream of a modern city wedding in Stockholm with elements of romance. It is perfectly possible to have the wedding ceremony inside one of the stylishly decorated turn-of-the-century salons, followed by a bridal toast and mingling in one of the salons next door. In the dinner hall, you can seat up to 90 guests before it’s time for festivities in another of the salons.
Ekolsund Castle is a former royal castle located between Uppsala and Västerås. Inside the castle there are fantastic rooms with beautiful wallpapers (including one that tells the story of when a bird stole a necklace, so you have to look for that bird when you’re there) and a completely magical room all in white with an enormously high ceiling .
At Ekolsund there are over 80 beds which are distributed between the Castle, Exedran, Wärdshuset and Canalladan.
The red fairytale castle. Just like at most castles, it is possible to have your entire wedding at Lejondal castle. If you are planning an outdoor wedding, you can either have it right at the back of the castle or out on the lawn overlooking the water.
Dalarö skans is located only 45 minutes from central Stockholm. For thoose wanting a church ceremony the wedding can take place at Dalarö Church but there is also the opportunity to have the ceremony at Dalarö skans.
The wedding reception is held in the Glass House which has a view in all directions. The room can be customised in different configurations with space to accommodate 60 – 120 guests.
After the reception, the event moves to the club which is housed under the keep.
If you wish to be near the water, there are few premises that are closer to the water than Ekensdal, a fantastic premises in the Stockholm archipelago. In Ekensdal’s large dining room on the upper floor, in addition to the view of Stockholm’s inlet, there is seating for up to 140 wedding guests and in the slightly smaller dining room downstairs, there is room for around 36 wedding guests. There is simply plenty of room here for those who want to gather family and friends. During the summer months, there is also the option of pitching a tent in the garden and having the wedding dinner there, for up to 270 wedding guests.
When you rent Ekensdal, you have the place exclusively, so you don’t have to share it with anyone else.
As you can see there are a lot of options when it comes to wedding venues in Sweden, wether you are looking for a city wedding, ot be near the water or a dreamy countryside castle.
